BYOC for restaurant leftovers
How much have you missed my Pyrex posts!? Just kidding. Truthfully, this is one that I struggle with because I don’t plan well enough. I have only accomplished it a handful of times since I never seem to have the Pyrex in my car when we decide to go out to eat. (The reason I had it this time was because we were on a road trip and it’s crazy how often Pyrex comes in handy on the road and/or when you get to your destination.) Thankfully, environmentally conscious restaurants have started handing out compostable or recyclable containers for your leftovers and while this is better than the styrofoam (which is still too prevalent!) zero waste is better than even that. Enter the Pyrex (or other container from home). As with some other of my practices, this will probably get you looks from people around you but it’s worth it! A sure fire way to start a conversation about less waste at your table is to pull out a Pyrex container from your bag to put your leftovers in. Let’s choose to see it as an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversation instead of shrinking from embarrassment. Today is a beautiful day to be brave!
