Less Waste in the Sink

Practice #5: Less Waste in the sink

Switching gears for a minute from buying food to cleaning up from the food. How many of you still use those Scotch kitchen sponges? I know I sure did for a while, even after I was switching up my lifestyle. I just couldn’t give them up. Until I discovered Twist Clean. They are made of 100% plant products and are compostable/biodegradable!! (I feel like I shouldinsert here that I am not getting paid for any of these endorsements or receiving any kind of kickback from these companies that I post about. They have no idea who I even am. These are simply products I have discovered along the way that have helped me with less waste.) Getting back to Twist, they have all kinds of sponge products so pick the ones that are best for your needs. I like the scrub sponge as well as just the scrubber. I bought mine at Whole Foods which I don’t care to shop at very often because of financial reasons but every once in a while, they have a product that I need. The other dish cloth I have in my arsenal is the good old knitted potholders/dish cloths my grandma makes. They aren’t necessarily sustainable since when they are dunzo, you can’t compost them but they last a long time and you can wash them over and over again. So go throw out those yucky blue dish sponges and make your kitchen sink happy!
