Creative Gift Wrapping

Tip of the day: Get creative with gift wrapping

In this picture is a gift wrapped with paper that came as part of the packaging in an Amazon.com arrival, dried roses that previously decorated our mantle, and twine that I always have on hand. It’s not fancy but it is pleasing to look at and is using materials I found around our house. I just grabbed a sharpie and wrote “To” and “From” right on the wrapping so I didn’t waste a card either.

My challenge to you is to look around your house for materials you can use to wrap gifts in. Any scrap fabric lying around? or an old pillowcase you can cut up? An old map? (remember those?) I have wrapped gifts in hand towels before. You can purchase reusable gift bags and hope that the recipient will “pass it on” with their next gift. And remember, if you need to purchase wrapping paper, try to buy it made from recycled paper!
