Menstrual Cups

Update: putacupinit.com might be a good guide to help you pick which one might be best for you. Thanks to Alyssa Raab for the resource!

Practice #17…

Before I tell you what this practice is, those of the male persuasion who read this page, please don’t go running for the hills once you hear what it is. I’ve been hesitant to write this post but I believe it’s important that you know about these, too. After all, it was my husband who informed me of their existence years ago and it has changed my life! You should tell everyone in your life who could benefit from these.

… Reusable menstrual products

Now, I’m not going to go into detail in this post about everything associated with these products but I need to make sure that you are aware that they exist.

Menstrual cups and cloth pads… They are a thing and, if you can find what works for you, are amazing, will save you a lot of money and keep many boxes of tampons out of the trash. A quick overview before you start googling… For the cup, you insert it up there and a few hours later you remove it, empty it, rinse it and put it back up. The cloth pads are basically what you would imagine, given the name. Full disclosure, I can’t bring myself to go the cloth pad route but bonus points for those of you who can!

That’s all I’m going to say about this topic on here. You can google them but if you find yourself getting lost in all of the info (and trust me, there is a TON of it out there) feel free to private message me and I will talk you through what I’ve learned. There are a lot of options so if you know your body, you should be able to make a better informed decision. And stay away from that one horror story about the cup getting stuck up there for days! I don’t know how that girl did that! It can’t be real.

Also, I don’t know anything about copyrights, which photos are public domain or not, but this picture is from Lunette. If it’s taken down in a few days, you’ll know why but there was no way on God’s green earth I was going to post a picture of my cup! You’re welcome.
