Less Waste Around Here

Less waste round here

1) We needed the toys to go vertical but I have a specific look to the shelf I want so while I wait for something to appear in a consignment store or craigslist, I pulled out an old metal shelf and covered the rust with white duct tape, cardboard and shelf liner. It’s not the look I want for the space but it’s free, using what I already had, and doing the job while I wait.

2) We are attending a new church and while we love the church, it’s been a hard transition for Andrew from Saturday nights to Sunday morning. To help with the transition, I pack a picnic lunch each week with all reusable containers/utensils/plates/drinking vessels for us (him) to look forward to.

3) I needed a wall holder for my ukulele and the only ones that looked nice were too expensive. We already had a hook there so I found a tutorial on how to tie an old shoestring to make a sling. It was another free answer to my problems. Someday I might get a more attractive holder for it but also, maybe not. It’s kind of growing on me.

Any less waste going on around your house? Feel free to share pictures! I love the inspiration.

Happy Friday!
