Less Waste Gift Basket

I’m sure by today you all have had your fill of celebration baskets but as I’m never 100% sure of what the status of this page will be a year from now, I wanted to show you how I chose to make less waste baskets for the girls’ Easter, just in case I’m not on this page next year.

Really simple:
I cut a canning jar box in half (nothing wrong with using a real basket, I just didn’t have one…)
Found some green tissue paper from the gift wrap reuse pile and put that down as the grass
Bought some bulk candy (gummies, yogurt covered raisins, chocolates, coconut bites and dates) and put them in jars
And each got their own new Water Wow

That’s it. Nothing fancy but the girls loved it. Next year, I will make sure to take some extra time beforehand to find them a new-to-them toy at a thrift store instead of a new item like the Water Wow but when you’re running out to the bulk store at 9:00 the night before Easter because you weren’t really prepared, you take what you can get.
